The Bored Ape Yacht Club is one of the most recognizable brands in the world of NFTs; lately, the world cannot go an entire week without hearing about a new high-profile BAYC transaction.

Welcome to BAYC

Few NFT collections are better known than the BAYC, and BAYC is one of the first and most substantial NFT projects to gain massive recognition and acceptance from both NFT enthusiasts and everyday people. The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a limited NFT collection, and if you’re in control of one or more tokens, they double as memberships to an ape swamp club.

A considerable amount of celebrities and sports icons have made significant investments in Bored Ape NFTs over the past few months, and you can also become a part of this community of 10,000 unique digital collectables existing on the Ethereum blockchain — but keep in mind that they do not come cheap.

Yuga Labs: The Reviews Are In

Earlier in January 2022, Yuga Labs, the team behind the BAYC, launched their new mobile game known as “Apes vs. Mutants.” This is not Yuga Labs’ first foray into the gaming world; releasing a successful video game has always been part of their growth strategy, and they’ve had no shortage of willing and excited partners.

The excitement behind Bored Apes as of January 2022 is astonishing; they’ve become some of the most sought-after NFTs worldwide. When Yuga Labs announced the launch of their new game, they were almost sure to ruffle some feathers. A considerable number of NFT enthusiasts and gamers took to Twitter after the game’s launch to express their disappointment about the quality of the Apes vs. Mutants game.

The 7-day BAYC mobile game might be far from perfect, but some people wonder whether the hype and excitement behind the entire project might be so high that some people will remain underwhelmed no matter what Yuga Labs launches.

Overcoming Obstacles: Beyond the Ethereum Blockchain

The Apes vs. Mutants game was scheduled to launch in December 2021, and the team was ready to release the game until Apple took it down from their iOS store last minute without stating a reason for their action. This unexpected action from Apple led their Yuga Labs team to postpone the launch of their game until January; astonishingly, they were able to finally launch the game in 2022.

Now that the game is live, Yuga Labs has another hurdle to cross, public opinion. The Yuga Labs team allowed both segments of the game franchise equal opportunities, so BAYC and MAYC holders got different games. At the end of the 7-day gaming festival, the BAYC game winners can expect the following;

  • 1st Place: A car
  • Top 50: Bronze Ape statute
  • 51–100: BAYC Customized Bong
  • 101–250: BAYC Customized Hats
  • 251–500: Plush Toy

Some people feel the Apes vs. Mutants game is satisfactory, while others think it leaves much to be desired. No matter where you stand in the divide, we can all accept that NFTs are the present and future.
