Twitter To Enable Bitcoin Tipping — Now Authenticated NFT Users Can Send Money To Each Other

Twitter unveiled new features, including controls that are more versatile and that bring the ability to send cryptocurrencies between authenticated users.

Twitter has also added Bitcoin to its hints feature, which previously allowed users to send money to other users via PayPal and other third-party services, and is rolling it out worldwide.

Starting today, users can link their Bitcoin wallet to their profile and send cryptocurrencies directly from the app using Strike, a third-party payment app based on the Bitcoin Lightning Network.

The Tip was initially available only to certain user groups but is now available to all iPhone users and soon for Android users.

According to Twitter, users in countries like Africa may not have access to off-the-shelf businesses, and Bitcoin is the best option out of the positive options there.

Twitter Tipping Is For Everyone!

Tipping is entirely on third-party platforms, so there is no profit from contributions when users select a service through an app or website. Twitter provided a bitcoin lightning wallet billing feature that will send out a notice to the receiver when that billing is paid off from the platform. At that time, a user can respond through a predetermined reply or emoji.

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are also becoming more prevalent on Twitter and the companies which are testing NFT authentication, allow users to directly link their crypto wallets and display their NFT ownership on Twitter.

In a call with press reporters, Twitter’s Lead for Conversational Security Christine Su also stated that the company will be introducing a method to leave a discussion that they have been tagged in, as well as ‘testing’ word filters to get rid of undesirable speech or targeted name calling, in addition to emoji and other terms.
